competition and new products launched...

and there's a bit of a nautical theme going on. Well last week I finally finished off a couple of projects, some old school posters, a HELLO SAILOR rosette (which I love) and a super cute GOOD JOB rosette. The light today was really bad so I managed to sweet talk the lovely Helene who I share office space with into letting me use her photo studio. Even with the aid of studio lighting the rosettes don't look great - in the flesh they sell like hot cakes, I can't keep up with how quickly Swonderful shirt them. I really need to take some model shots. Lucky I finally spoke to the pretty as a picture Sophie, niece of my friend Gilly and have signed her up as the face of Dear Colleen. Just need to sort a photographer now and find some cash, I think it's going to take more than raiding the sofa.

Well on to the COMPETITION... Facebook cocked up and run an ad promoting a giveaway I ran two months ago. I hadn't planned to run another giveaway until my six months anniversary but I feel obliged to honor what was advertised so for the second time you have the chance to win any item from my etsy shop. I'm running it from my blog this time because there are some legal grey areas around facebook competitions.

TO BE IN THE RUNNING just leave a comment below letting me know of any great craft markets or fairs you've been to or heard of, anywhere in the world is fine (links to the markets/fairs would also be very helpful) The reason I'm asking this will become very clear in my next few posts - it's not top secret but I haven't had time to write about it yet. If you can't think of any just leave a comment saying hi. Best of luck, Colleen ;)

*Just as a side note the competition will close next friday 25 July 4.30pm NZ time.

**THANK YOU for all the lovely comments on the post below, you're all very sweet:)

COMPETITION NOW CLOSED - the winner is lucky number 11 kiwisara

  7. Ooh, ooh, pick me!! I don't have nearly enough Dear Colleen merchandise in my life already! Hehe : )
My favourite markets are Craft 2.0 in Wellington (craft2.org) and A Craft Affair in Christchurch (acraftaffair.blogspot.com)!

  8. I must confess to only having ever been to Craft2.0, living in Whakatane doesn't really lend itself to attending markets (unless you count the ohope market.. and I don't!). I can vouch for the nelson market being cool, but not ideally fitted to your product, I don't think.
Have heard the market coming up in Auckland will be awesome, but I see you are already involved in that.
So, no real suggestions here but a definite 'hi!' x

  17. Yay! Thank you for giving us the chance to win one of your lovely creations. :)

We have First Friday here in Tennessee. On the first Friday of each month local artists and crafters set up to sell their wares, downtown businesses hold open houses and area bands play in the street. We also have the Blue Plum Festival, Apple Festival, Jonesborough Days... you name it! Apparently we like to have a lot of craft fairs around here. ;)

  25. Katikati has Moggie's Market which is usually quite packed full of local crafts. I really miss the markets in Asuncion, Paraguay - full of local goodies mostly made while sitting and selling. I can't find a decent website though and all my photos were pre digital cameras

  26. Hi! The Art Star craft market in Philadelphia looks pretty fancy, I think it's curated & they seem to like concepty stuff like yours. Never actually been to it though, I don't know what else there is there. Except the steps that Rocky did his running dance on.

  27. I love the Sowa Open Market in Boston... not huge and pretty lowkey, the artisans change every week and it's open air in a hip location-- good to get a dose of some fresh stuff in the middle of the city. Really good variety too... http://www.southendopenmarket.com/
